The Open Window SRC warmly invites you to take part in our ONLINE ART AUCTION in association with Railways Cafe’s Kitchen of Compassion to provide food-relief during the COVID-19 crisis.

The idea is to auction donated artwork online to Open Window students. In this way, our students are given the opportunity to purchase art by sought after artists (you, obviously!) at an affordable price. In the process, Open Window staff and students will be given the opportunity to support our extended community in these trying times.

The bidding will happen via the SRC Instagram page @openwindow_src and will start at R100.

Both lecturer and student artworks will be featured for anyone to bid on. The works will be available as one-off fine-art prints for the winning bidder.

Thank you in advance for considering being part of this charity initiative. Despite these difficult times, many of us are still fortunate enough to have food to eat and a place to sleep, and we as SRC feel that we do have some responsibility to give back also to our immediate community. Railways Café is more than just a cool local hangout for many Open Window students, they are also a truly community-centric location who care very deeply for the less fortunate. They continue to fill hearts and bellies in this trying time and every little bit we can do to help will only benefit our shared community.
