The Pangolin Awards | 1 December at 15:00–18:00

The Pangolin is an endangered, solitary, and predominantly nocturnal mammal covered in scales. They are well adapted for digging and climbing using their tails and rear legs for support and balance. We believe the Pangolin’s uniqueness, resilience and dexterity is a worthy metaphor for our Open Window graduates. Whilst many mysteries surround the Pangolin’s behaviour and habits, what is known, is that they, like creative spirits, do not do well in captivity.

In honour of these fiercely independent creatures, and in partnership and recognition of the efforts of The National Zoological Gardens in bringing awareness to critically endangered animals, we have chosen to name The Open Window Graduate awards for excellence in creativity – The Pangolin Awards. This year, the award ceremony will celebrate innovative and pioneering student works across the Open Window Schools of Film Arts, Visual Communication, and Interaction Arts.
